Job Description

The successful candidates will fulfill the role of Inspector/Scientific Officer II (Level 4) General, assigned to the implementation of EPA's statutory functions, including licensing, enforcement, scientific evaluation, data assessment and reporting, and advocacy. Responsibilities may involve desk work, site activities, and direct dealings with the public. The appointee will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Programme Manager, and may be assigned to monitor, inspect, and audit EPA regulated facilities, assess environmental data, and prepare national reports. Key responsibilities may include assessing authorisation applications, enforcing licence conditions, and collaborating with other regulators and stakeholders. The role also involves managing staff, fostering EPA values, and contributing to office work programmes, including budget preparation and management.br brEssential Requirements: A degree in Science or Engineering (NFQ Level 8) or a relevant postgraduate qualification (NFQ Level 9), a minimum of two years' work experience in a regulatory environment, and a current full driving licence.
