Job Description

Operations Manager CREGG are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our client a leading haulage and warehousing company based in East Limerick. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of company and transportation operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods to customers. Key Responsibilities: Oversee five business units across the Transport division, ensuring optimum daily transportation activities, including route scheduling, vehicle assignments, and driver allocations. Manage the retention and contract renewal of the existing customer base, ensuring regular service, meeting and exceeding service levels, understanding and fulfilling customer requirements, and exploring all business opportunities. Maximise business efficiency through effective route, fleet, and resource planning and allocation. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Coordinate with other departments, such as warehousing, in-house garage, and customer service, to ensure seamless transportation operations. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve transportation efficiency and productivity. Oversee all commercial quotations and tender submissions for new business. Act as custodian of master data and training on Eureka and related transport IT software systems. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience in transportation management, with a strong understanding of distribution operations. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and experience with a Traffic Management System advantageous. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards, such as DOT regulations (preferred). IT hardware and software knowledge to liaise with the in-house IT function and external contractors. Desirable: A leader with proven change management achievements in Lean methodologies and digitalisation, particularly in reducing paperwork from processes.
