Job Description
As a Data Migration Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive migration strategies, conduct impact assessments, and mitigate risks associated with data transitions.
- Lead the end-to-end data migration process, ensuring successful execution and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and implement data migration strategies and methodologies in accordance with industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain data migration plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data migration requirements and set clear project scopes and timelines.
- Lead and manage a team of data migration specialists, providing guidance and support throughout the migration process.
- Coordinate data cleansing, mapping, extraction, transformation, and loading activities throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential data issues during the migration process.
- Oversee the testing and validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.
- Provide ongoing support and training to team members on data migration tools and techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data migration, preferably within the Financial Services industry.
- Strong technical skills, including experience with data mapping and transformation, ETL processes, database management systems and data transformation tools.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
