**Job Summary:** We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee teams of exceptional software engineers, driving engineering best practices and delivering highly operable and maintainable software on a global scale. We are looking for a proven leader to help lead teams of exceptional software engineers to tackle some of the hardest problems at global scale. The ideal candidate will be a great people manager, with a proven track record in recruiting and retaining top talent, and excel in day-to-day people and performance management tasks. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead teams of software engineers to deliver highly operable and maintainable software on a global scale * Drive engineering best practices throughout the organization * Create a team vision and product roadmap, setting SMART goals for the team and individuals alike * Partner with product and program management teams to define and develop multi-tier web services * Communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy * Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers **Requirements:** * Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle * Experience in engineering team management * Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services * Experience partnering with product and program management teams * Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy * Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers **About the Company:** Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.
