We are seeking an Associate Architect to lead architectural projects from concept to completion, collaborating with architects, designers, and other business units to deliver innovative design solutions and sustainable strategies.

Job Description

We are looking for a driven and creative Associate Architect to join our team. In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with other architects, designers, and other business units to lead and manage architectural projects from concept through to completion, spanning various building types and uses.
  • Architectural Design Leadership: Lead the development of creative, sustainable architectural designs while providing both technical and artistic direction.
  • Design Tools & Documentation: Produce detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, and visuals using Revit and other design software.
  • Research & Compliance: Conduct in-depth research into building codes, materials, and construction methods to support design integrity and innovation.
  • Client Presentations & Reports: Prepare and deliver design proposals, project presentations, and comprehensive reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project documentation, maintain project databases, and ensure smooth coordination with consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Sustainable Design Initiatives: Champion the integration of sustainable design strategies and environmentally responsible solutions in all projects.
  • Site Analysis & Visits: Perform site analyses, conduct surveys, and make regular site visits to ensure alignment with design and client expectations.

Requirements

  • RIAI or RIBA accredited degree in architecture, with completion of RIBA Parts 1, 2, and 3 and registration with the RIAI.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, with solid working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and other relevant design software.
  • Exceptional design sensibility, strong visualization skills, and the ability to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and team members.
  • Proven ability to lead design teams, collaborate across disciplines, and independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of building regulations and industry standards, with an understanding of BC(a)R certification processes.
  • Ability to apply creative thinking and problem-solving techniques in architectural design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a deep passion for architectural design and commitment to staying informed on current trends and practices.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing all project phases across diverse range of sectors, with a particular focus on commercial interiors, large-scale residential (PRS / PBSA), and hospitality sectors.
  • Public sector experience is a plus but not essential.
  • Proven experience in leading project teams and mentoring junior architects and designers.
  • Experience with business development activities such as pitching, networking, and lead generation.

Reporting

This role reports directly to the Director of Architecture and/or the Regional Architecture Lead.
