**Clinical Specialist Radiographer Job Description** **Summary:** Lead and manage a team of radiographers in a Cath Lab environment, ensuring exceptional patient care and quality service delivery. **Job Description:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Radiographer to join our Radiology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of radiographers in a Cath Lab environment, ensuring exceptional patient care and quality service delivery. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Clinical Operations:** + Lead the Cath Lab Service on a day-to-day basis, ensuring effective utilisation of resources and quality service delivery. + Develop and implement operational policies, protocols, and guidelines to ensure optimum utilisation of resources and systematic audit of usage. + Advise on equipment selection, purchase, replacement, or upgrading. * **Quality Assurance:** + Investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with hospital policy in relation to complaints, accidents, and incidents. + Ensure all hospital policies and relevant up-to-date information is understood and complied with by staff. * **Radiation Safety:** + Ensure adherence to the three principles of radiation protection: justification, optimisation (ALARA), and dose constraints/limits. + Familiarise yourself with EU Council Directive Euratom Basic Safety Standards and current Irish legislation for the protection of health workers and the general public against the dangers arising from Ionising Radiation. * **Other Duties:** + Demonstrate flexibility in possible changes to work patterns, such as extending working hours to accommodate patients. + Assist in the development and implementation of risk management and health and safety strategies. + Develop and maintain a training function as required in relation to qualified staff and/or trainees and students. **Person Specification:** * **Qualifications:** + BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography + CORU registered + Management course (desirable) * **Experience:** + A minimum of 6 years' experience in the chosen modality or a postgraduate qualification + Demonstrate experience of working with a team of radiographers * **Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge:** + Demonstrate ability to manage clinical and non-clinical situations + Proven ability to work under pressure + Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills + Ability to deal with staff and management at all levels within the organisation + High capacity for responsibility and individual initiative + Interest in quality initiation for the Radiographic service + Evidence of post-registration professional development
