Job Description

**Director of Student Counselling and Student Support Services** Marino Institute of Education is seeking an experienced leader to develop and provide ongoing direction and coordination of student support services, promoting inclusion and excellence in education. **Job Description:** The Director of Student Counselling and Student Support Services will lead the development of student support services within the institution, ensuring the provision of quality, evidence-based services to meet the needs of students and support the MIE Strategic Development Plan. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and manage the Student Support Services Team, including Counselling, Access, Careers, and Student Engagement * Coordinate and oversee Service Level Agreements for Disability and Health Services * Provide clinical supervision and support to staff, including trainees and assistant psychologists * Network and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including providers in the Voluntary and Statutory sector * Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, relevant legislation, and standards * Monitor data collection, storage, and usage within Student Support Services to ensure GDPR compliance **Requirements:** * Postgraduate masters/doctorate degree or professional clinical qualification in counselling/clinical psychology, psychotherapy, or counselling * Accreditation/Registration as a clinical supervisor and counsellor or psychotherapist * At least 5 years experience as a staff member in a clinical and/or counselling setting * Significant leadership and management experience * Excellent communication and facilitation skills * Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory obligations **Desirable Criteria:** * Commitment to best practice, quality service standards, and professional development * Understanding of the importance of quality services and ability to work with staff to proactively deliver this * Demonstrated commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and equality * Experience in using social media to communicate with service users/stakeholders and/or provide psychosocial or self-help materials **Working Arrangements:** * Full-time position * Reporting to the MIE Registrar * Collaborative working environment with a range of internal and external stakeholders **Salary:** * €74,701 to €103,417 per annum **How to Apply:** * Completed applications must be received by 5pm on the specified date * Interviews will be scheduled in November, with the successful candidate expected to commence in the post in early 2025
