Seeking a Risk Management/ Business Continuity Planning Manager to develop and implement effective business continuity strategies and risk management plans for a Not for Profit organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft the overall business continuity strategy to implement effective systems across all business areas.
- Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of key processes, systems, and subject matter experts, including ICT, finance, and general programme management.
- Review and analyse ICT disaster recovery capabilities, focusing on Recovery Point Objective and Recovery Time Objective to support business continuity.
- Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities across each directorate and work with teams to address issues via continuity planning.
- Create detailed business continuity and disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks and ensure organisational resilience.
- Develop and coordinate response plans for serious business disruptions and lead incident investigations.
- Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure employees are prepared to execute plans effectively.
- Maintain thorough documentation of plans, procedures, and recovery strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant governance requirements and work towards ISO standards.
- Monitor and update BCP plans to reflect changes and emerging threats.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Degree or 3rd level professional qualification QQI Level 8 or higher in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum four years of experience in a similar role at a large organisation, focusing on Business Continuity Planning and/or Risk Management.
- Understanding of corporate governance processes and assurance frameworks for regulatory compliance.
- Ability to prioritise workload and plan BCP strategy based on evaluation of priorities.
- Clear understanding of risk management processes and mitigation plans.
- Excellent analytic, numerical, administrative, and IT skills.
- Highly organised with strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with the culture and organisation of state agencies and operators.
- Experience in leading and managing projects.
