Job Description

Senior Bariatric Dietitian

The Bon Secours Hospital, a Centre of Excellence for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, seeks a skilled Senior Bariatric Dietitian to join its dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing patients who have had bariatric surgery and/or previous experience in a weight management, obesity disease, or upper GI surgery service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the bariatric multidisciplinary team to support individuals in their bariatric surgery journey.
  • Manage a busy outpatient clinic caseload, including phone, virtual, and in-person consultations.
  • Meet with individuals post-surgery on in-patient wards.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, formulating treatment plans and managing post-op complications.

Requirements:

  • Hold a qualification approved by the Dietitians registration board at CORU.
  • Be registered with the Dietitians registration board at CORU.
  • Maintain live annual registration with the Dietitians registration board at CORU.
  • Have three years full-time experience in clinical dietetics, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Be able to communicate in English to the standard equivalent of level 7 of the International English Language Testing System.

This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract opportunity to gain experience in bariatric surgery and a wide range of specialties.

Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal and team skills.

Supervised specialist training can be offered for the right candidate.
