Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our team in Dublin, Ireland. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of large projects, including cost control, client relationships, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of quantity surveyors to ensure effective commercial management of projects.
- Responsible for cost controlling on all aspects of the project and ensuring budgets are achieved.
- Manage client relationships from a commercial perspective and ensure all final accounts are agreed.
- Engage proactively with project managers to ensure business goals are achieved and commercial interests are protected.
- Monitor projects through the design stage and work with the design team to ensure project deliverables are achieved and project risks are minimized.
- Issue tender queries, prepare tender reports, and let sub-contract packages.
- Prepare progress applications, cost reports, and monthly management accounts for each project.
- Report to management on the financial progression of projects.
- Vet all main contracts and negotiate commercial risks with prospective clients.
- Participate in management issues of the company.
- Support the area manager and take responsibility for the commercial assurance of projects under management.
- Provide commercial assurance of project margin performance through accurate forecasting and identification of issues giving rise to commercial risk.
- Review and manage all projects to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Ensure compliance with contract programme/schedule and provide weekly reports to the construction team on planned versus actual progress.
Necessary Requirements:
- 3rd-level qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction economics.
- Strong technical background in contracting.
- Proven track record of quantity surveying fundamentals.
- Knowledge and experience of working under a GCCC form of contract.
- Strong operational skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience working on building projects in Ireland or the UK as Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager with a recognized construction company.
- Experience operating/leading the commercial function on projects in excess of €30 million with large complex projects.
- Good presentation and general management skills.
- Strong written communication abilities and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company.
