**Director of Student Counselling and Student Support Services** Marino Institute of Education is seeking an experienced leader to develop and provide direction for student support services, promoting inclusion and excellence in education. **Job Description:** The Director of Student Counselling and Student Support Services will lead the development of student support services, ensuring the provision of quality, evidence-based services to meet the needs of students. The role involves: * Developing and managing the Student Support Services Team, including Counselling, Access, Careers, and Student Engagement * Coordinating and overseeing Service Level Agreements for Disability and Health Services * Providing clinical supervision and support to staff and students * Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to student wellbeing and support * Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice and up-to-date research informs service development * Leading the development of student support services within the institution, ensuring alignment with the MIE Strategic Plan **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and implement strategies to enhance student experience and support * Lead the Student Support Services Team, including Counselling, Access, Careers, and Student Engagement * Coordinate and oversee Service Level Agreements for Disability and Health Services * Provide clinical supervision and support to staff and students * Develop and implement policies and procedures related to student wellbeing and support * Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice and up-to-date research informs service development * Lead the development of student support services within the institution, ensuring alignment with the MIE Strategic Plan **Requirements:** * Postgraduate masters/doctorate degree or professional clinical qualification in counselling/clinical psychology, psychotherapy, or counselling * Accreditation/Registration as a clinical supervisor and counsellor or psychotherapist * At least 5 years experience as a staff member in a clinical and/or counselling setting * Significant leadership and management experience * Experience in service delivery and development, strategic planning, and policy development * Solid organisational, project management, and change management skills * Excellent communication and facilitation skills * Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory obligations * Experience in the HEI sector or voluntary/statutory services **Desirable Criteria:** * Commitment to best practice, quality service standards, professional development, and research * Understanding of the importance of quality services and ability to work with staff to proactively deliver this * Demonstrated commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and equality * Experience in using social media to communicate with service users/stakeholders * Experienced in budget management * Personal attributes: commitment to an ethos of service to students and staff, enthusiasm, flexibility, and adaptability **Reporting Relationship:** The appointee will report to the MIE Registrar and will be responsible for the performance of duties in the first instance. The reporting relationship may be subject to periodic review, in line with service needs and developments in the Institute. **Salary:** The current annual salary scale is €74,701 to €103,417. **Application:** Completed applications must be received by 5pm on the specified date.
