Job Summary: Maintenance Fitter/Mechanic required for leading manufacturing company in North Cork to assist in day-to-day running and maintenance of production facility.
Our client is a leading manufacturing company in North Cork, seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter/Mechanic to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on meat processing equipment, including conveyors, motor/gearbox, and packaging machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
- Replace and repair defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Requirements:
- Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience of machines & process equipment, controls & automation.
- Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance, and refrigeration systems.
- Good communication, written & oral skills.
- Good troubleshooting ability.
- Holds a full driving license.
- Ability to work on own initiative, with minimum supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours (overtime and on call).
