Job Description
To manage a Production Engineering team, you need a comprehensive understanding of various technologies, a focus on team growth, and a drive toward high-value projects. Responsibilities include supporting engineers, leading technical discussions, and building partnerships with product management and software engineering teams. You will also empower engineers to develop their careers, build an inclusive work environment, and assess employee performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead engineers on infrastructure challenges related to scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Understand and contribute to technical architectures, capacity plans, and automation plans.
- Drive technical architecture discussions and develop partnerships with product and software engineering teams.
- Empower engineers to develop their careers and build an inclusive work environment.
- Assess employee performance, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of direct management experience in a technology role.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience drafting and reviewing code.
- Experience building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with defense in depth strategies and threat modeling.
