Join our team to build tools and automate mitigation of real-time network impact, investigate performance and risks, and drive innovative solutions for Meta's backbone networks. **Role Summary:**
* Scale network mitigation and monitoring
* Investigate long-term trends and performance risks
* Drive innovative solutions for backbone network products
**Responsibilities:**
* Write and review code, develop documentation, and debug complex networks
* Participate in on-call rotation and escalate service incidents
* Perform deep dives on technical issues across networks
* Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol backbone networks
* Analyze data to diagnose network issues
* Define, develop, and optimize automated network monitoring systems
* Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams
* Contribute to team growth and development
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 4+ years experience coding in higher-level languages
* 5+ years experience in routing protocols (BGP, MPLS, ISIS)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures
* Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv6
* Experience operating and designing SDN-based backbone networks
* Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment
* Experience with automation frameworks and network devices
* Experience developing and understanding network device configuration
* Knowledge of routing and switching concepts
