Reporting within the Operations function a Plant Operator is a team player and self-starter with the ability to multitask meet deadlines as well as develop and motivate team members.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plant on site.
- Ensuring the safety of all personnel.
- Carrying out in day-to-day activities such as monitoring assessing testing and operating plant equipment.
- Training and developing to achieve and maintain competency.
- Compliance with safety and environmental obligations.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining a shift operations record (log) and submitting reports as required by the Operations Manager.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant operations testing and related activities.
- Attending and contributing to scheduled meetings.
- Involvement in initial front-line maintenance/troubleshooting.
- Outage and project management as required.
- Participation on business improvement projects as required.
- Train and develop themselves and others as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Ability to analyse process and control information to appropriately respond to plant operational conditions.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Leaving certificate.
Desirable:
- Experience of power station operations or a similar heavy process industry.
- Engineering/technical qualification.
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards.
- Environmental safety and chemistry compliance experience.
- Relevant CSCS tickets and qualifications.
- Awareness of Safe System of Work.
- Experience using Maintenance/Operations Management Systems.

Salary: €31,200 - €37,350 per annum plus additional payment applicable while working on shift (i.e shift allowance).
