Job Description
Quality Assurance Officer: Join the National Virus Reference Laboratory in Ireland as a key member of the team responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and competence in laboratory testing.
The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) is a leading diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers a wide range of tests for the diagnosis of various pathogens and provides a 24/7 clinical and technical on-call service to support the National Transplant Programme.
The NVRL is accredited by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) to undertake testing in accordance with international standards. The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing the NVRL Quality System, ensuring compliance with ISO15189, national, and EU legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, maintain, and review the NVRL Quality System
- Ensure compliance with ISO15189, national, and EU legislative requirements
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure high-quality testing and reporting
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., laboratory science, quality assurance)
- Proven experience in quality assurance and laboratory management
- Strong knowledge of ISO15189 and EU legislative requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary Scale: €69,288-€85,100 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
