Job Description
Senior Projects Engineer role involves working within the Packing Department Projects division to deliver improvements and integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.

Abbott Nutrition produces a range of infant formulae in all pack sizes under the brand name "Similac". To complement the range of "Similac" infant formulae, the facility also manufactures a range of follow-on formulae under the brand name of "Gain". The essential ingredient is liquid skim-milk and this is combined with carbohydrate, vegetable oils, vitamins and minerals.
The role of Senior Projects Engineer will involve working within the Packing Department Projects division, joining an established team of Engineers in the delivery of improvements to help integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area, through the execution of project work in compliance with current regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help establish departmental goals, schedules, and timetables for activities with the Principal Program Manager.
- Plan and schedule work in accordance with plant demand and available manpower.
- Maintain adequate stores stock levels and ensure proper in/out control.
- Ensure compliance with Company International Global Standards, GMP & Environmental requirements.
- Ensure all employees and contractors under direction are familiar with all Safety Rules Regulations.
- Drive a Continuous Improvement culture through effective RCA & PPS.
- Manage Project Engineering Department finances within the annual organizational plan.
- Deputize for Project Engineering Manager in their absence.
- Support Business Excellence initiatives in the plant.
Project Management:
- Lead plant capital projects as assigned.
- Present project charters and business case proposals for review with management team.
- Develop project documentation including technical design, scope documents, and key performance indicators (KPI's) in accordance with corporate, division, and site requirements.
- Prepare project plans, working closely with key stakeholders on site on business needs and timing of project completion.
- Manage project communication at all levels with key stakeholders and contractors.
Financial Management:
- Procure vendor services that are fit for purpose and cost-effective.
- Undertake financial analysis, budgeting, tracking, and schedule management for all aspects of projects.
- Implement regular project reporting structures including milestone achievements, deliverables, status, resource demands, and financial control.
Validation:
- Ensure full implementation of all projects in line with site validation programs.
- Play a key role in driving successful completion of all validation packs.
- Develop and execute validation protocols (FAT, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Manage any project-associated Quality issues and CAPA's.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline with a minimum of 7 years relevant Engineering Experience.
- Knowledge of an Automated Manufacturing Environment and packing equipment would be an advantage.
