Job Description

Job Description: Amazon Japan's Logistics department (Amazon Logistics: AMZL) provides most services in Japan, contributing to customer satisfaction with high-quality and innovative delivery services. UTR (Under the Roof) refers to the overall process of sorting and loading packages onto vans or trucks from the shipping facilities to the delivery areas. UTR Safety aims to improve safety in all UTR processes and involves all people related to these processes.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement safety plans for emergency situations, peak times, and unique work health and safety (WHS) situations.
Ensure compliance with all applied Amazon WHS policies through guidance and supervision.
Support business WHS initiatives by maintaining accurate WHS records, providing precise reports and indicators.
Identify and resolve potential risks, excluding exposure and preventing injuries.
Identify gaps in WHS policies, standards, and local regulations, and verify and mitigate all risks associated with these gaps.
Ensure accurate and consistent training, audit, and evaluation methods through audits of workplace organizations and associates' actions.
Verify that site leaders and associates receive training and possess necessary knowledge based on each policy, and audit the quality, implementation, and effectiveness of all WHS training, including trainers' qualifications.
Review the effectiveness of deployed safety tools and implement continuous improvements.

A Day in the Life:

On-site work at assigned and nearby sites.
Visits to partner company facilities, product development facilities, and possible international travel for global collaboration.

Minimum Requirements:

3+ years of safety management experience as a regular employee (industry is not specified)
Experience in safety guidance and introduction at the workplace.
Practical experience in risk assessment, accident investigation, and corrective measures for EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety)
Business-level Japanese language skills (document creation and reading, business meeting experience)
Daily conversation-level English skills (document creation is optional)
Positive attitude towards contributing to an inclusive culture and working in a diverse group
Experience with ISO 18001/45001 and transportation safety management implementation and maintenance
Experience with management system audits (auditor or audited, safety-related is optional)
Experience participating in projects (P.M. experience is optional)
Knowledge of domestic safety-related laws (Labor Safety and Health Law, Labor Standards Law, Fire Law)
Standardization and implementation experience for transportation and road traffic laws and regulations
Business-level English language skills
