Job Description

Hotel Housekeeping Manager oversees hotel cleanliness and maintenance, responsible for day-to-day management, budgeting, and staff supervision, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

As a key member of the hotel team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas of the hotel, including rooms, public areas, back of house, staff areas, and hotel exterior. This includes conducting rigorous checking systems, training staff, and liaising with other departments as required.

  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas of the hotel
  • Conduct rigorous checking systems and train staff
  • Liaise with front office to coordinate accommodation allocation
  • Liaise with other departments as required
  • Manage staff rotas and supervisory cover for the housekeeping department
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of rooms and public areas
  • Inspect the hotel daily to meet hygiene, health, and safety regulations
  • Recruit and supervise a team of room attendants, linen porters, and maintenance staff
  • Coordinate and arrange laundry and linen supplies
  • Manage all laundry operations
  • Manage hotel lost property
  • Carry out duty management shifts as required

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Ensuring strict housekeeping SOPs are in place and continually updated
  • Ensuring all team members attend required training
  • Ensuring regular team and departmental meetings are held
  • Controlling and analysing departmental costs
  • Ensuring adequate checklists and records are in place
  • Overseeing the annual operating budget for the housekeeping department
  • Ensuring oversight of key costs such as payroll, energy, stock, and supplies
  • Ensuring all working materials/equipment, areas, and signage are maintained in good condition

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Interact and communicate with clients, guests, and colleagues in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
  • Be fully aware of all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure all staff in your department comply with hotel policy regarding uniform and personal hygiene
  • Be aware of the day's business, including room occupancy, special requirements, and VIP needs
  • Be consistently well-groomed and professional in appearance and presentation
  • Be innovative and develop new ideas contributing to company success
  • Protect and promote the image of The Address Collective at all times
