Job Description

Job Description: Our client is seeking a dynamic Accountant to join their finance team. The role will be instrumental in driving financial performance by ensuring rigorous reporting, conducting product margin analysis, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decisions. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and present accurate and timely management accounts (including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements). Compile detailed board packs ensuring financial clarity for senior management and stakeholders. Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting processes in line with company standards. Conduct product margin analysis and report on profitability by product or segment. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to assess product pricing strategies and cost of goods sold (COGS). Provide financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, variance analysis, and return on investment (ROI) assessments. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to align with strategic goals. Manage cash flow by maintaining forecasts, identifying potential risks, and providing recommendations to address shortfalls. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Manage the monthly close process and ensure accuracy in transaction recording and reconciliation. Liaise with external auditors and advisors for tax compliance and audits. Maintain strong financial controls and risk management practices. Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience (PQE) as a qualified accountant. Prior experience working in a finance function. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Strong business acumen with the ability to transition between operational and strategic tasks. Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. Strong control environment management experience. Desirable Skills: Experience in a similar role (e.g. Finance Manager). Familiarity with cloud-based financial systems (e.g. Xero). Educational Requirements: A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
