Job Description

Position description We have fantastic opportunities in our centralised Finance Operations function for candidates who are highly motivated, with a strong accounting background and capability. The positions offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team in the Accounting & Reporting area. Our teams in this area are responsible for financial accounting and treasury accounting for the ESB Group and its Business Units. Key Responsibilities Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level. Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and ESB Group annual and interim report. Co-ordination of the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required. Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers including corporate teams, financial planning & analysis team, business units and external auditors. Partnering with the Business on accounting related matters. Providing technical accounting support to Corporate and Business Units. Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group. Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function. Experience and Qualifications Essential Newly qualified/1+ year PQE with recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) High level of technical accounting competency and strong analytical skills. Highly motivated - able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong IT skills - knowledge of SAP/S4 Hana would be preferable. Location This position will be based in ESB's Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.
