About the Role
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading a team of finance professionals to achieve company-wide goals, manage financial close processes, and ensure statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international accounting standards, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approval of annual statutory trial balances and financial statements for several international entities
- Manage finance team members and monitor performance of direct reports
- Oversight and management of audit team engagement and other vendor engagements
- Proactive leading and achievement of team's compliance deadlines, milestones, and delivery of timely compliance requests
- Presentation and communication of key internal and external information to CAO, CFO, and other key stakeholders
- Point of escalation for any compliance issues internally or externally
- Demonstrate manager level knowledge and experience across international accounting standards
- Represent the International Accounting team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and improve processes and systems
- Approve journal entries, review general ledger accounts, and reconciliations
- Review and approval of statistical returns for several international entities
- Leading cross-functionally internally, specifically with internal tax and legal teams
- Collaborate with the leadership team to complete accounting projects and bring continuous improvement to statutory compliance
- Drive the team strategically to achieve company-wide goals
- Tracking and reporting on budget, forecast, actuals for the accounting cost centre
- Support the team on technical issues/transactions
- Oversight of Financial Controllership Model

Requirements
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- 5+ years post-qualified experience or equivalent
- 2+ years in manager role or equivalent
- Demonstration of key leadership competencies, aligned with the Workday culture and core values
- Motivational leadership and Workday culture maintenance are essential competencies
- Shared Service Centre experience, preferably in a complex global accounting environment
- Proficient and comfortable with technical accounting and interpretation across US GAAP, IFRS, and global reporting
- Comfortable leading a cohesive team of global finance professionals
- Team player who creates and maintains positive and effective working relationships
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to multitask, plan, and prioritize work schedules
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse
- Demonstrates statutory accounting background and qualifications
- Fast learner, picking up a new environment and relationship, 'can do' attitude & hands-on approach
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Problem solving attitude and striving for solutions is very important
- Flexibility to work across different time zones when required
