Job Description

Job Purpose To perform operational duties appropriate to the provision of Aeronautical Mobile, Fixed and Broadcast Communication services to international aviation. 3.2Main Duties and Responsibilities Liaison between pilots of aircraft and oceanic air traffic control centres. Provide joint aeronautical communications with NARTEL stations. Tasks related to Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. Co-ordination with radio network centres, airline operating companies and the offices of MET, AIS and other such agencies. Operation of computer-based flight data processing systems. Operation of computer-based message switching system for the exchange of internal flight data. Supervision of automated broadcast system for the dissemination of weather information to aircraft in flight. Other duties as may be assigned, where appropriate.
