Job Title: Afterschool Childcare Assistant Location: Little Mochtas Job Type: (Full-time/Part-time) Overview: Little Mochtas is seeking a dedicated and caring Afterschool Childcare Assistant to support the development and coordination of activities in our After School Programme. The successful candidate will work closely with the Centre Manager to ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of children in the program. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Centre Manager to implement and maintain afterschool services and programs. Coordinate and lead activities that are suitable for the children in the After School Programme. Maintain the room and equipment to always ensure the health and safety of children. Ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained throughout the program. Attend meetings and participate in ongoing training as required. Follow all centre policies and procedures, with particular attention to child protection guidelines. Be vigilant about child protection procedures and immediately report any concerns to the Centre Manager. Supervise and support children during homework time to ensure a productive environment. Accompany children to and from school as part of daily routines. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information related to children and their families; any breach will be considered gross misconduct. Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as assigned from time to time. Person Specifications: Qualifications: Minimum FETAC Level 5 in Childcare; FETAC Level 5 in Occupational First Aid is an advantage. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate: Kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of children. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, staff, and parents. Sense of Humour: Ability to engage children in a fun and supportive manner. Knowledgeable: Familiarity with relevant childcare legislation and regulations.
