Job Title: Agency Secretariat Officer Division/Function: Legal Reports to: Agency Secretary (CLO) / Senior Manager Agency Secretariat Job Family: Corporate Services Career Stream: Professional Career Zone: Management/Professional Leaders Job Type: Permanent **Closing date for applications is Tuesday 29th October 2024** Summary of the Business The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities. Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority ("NewERA"), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund . The NTMA also assigns staff to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI). Role Summary The Agency Secretariat team plays a key role in the NTMA's overall governance framework. The successful candidate will support the Agency Secretariat team in providing secretariat services to the NTMA Board and its sub-committees (Audit and Risk Committee, State Claims Agency Advisory Committee, Investment Committee, Future Ireland Funds Investment Committee and the Remuneration Committee) and to a broad range of management committees (including the Executive Management Team, Future Ireland Funds Oversight Committee, (NDFA) Management Infrastructure Committee, ICT Steering Committee and ISIF Nominations Committee). Principal Accountabilities Support with the scheduling and co-ordination of Agency and Committee meetings including preparation of work programmes, meeting papers and agendas and drafting of minutes. Assisting with the drafting and review of Agency and Committee papers. Provision of support to the Agency Secretariat team in the maintenance of the Agency and Committee Governance File and Key Decision Logs/Action Trackers. Assisting with the organisation of training and development and induction support to Agency and Committee members. Provision of support in the completion of the Board /Committee annual effectiveness reviews. Maintenance of governance related sections of corporate website. Knowledge/Qualifications: The candidate should hold an honours primary degree and/or (be working towards a) relevant professional qualification. Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills including report writing. An interest in learning the relevant legal, statutory and regulatory requirements. Strong integrity. A strong stakeholder focus, with the ability to engage positively and effectively with individuals across the organisation. Ability to work as part of a team and to work collaboratively with others. Exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
