Site Reliability Engineer - Artificial Intelligence and Automation Solutions

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Lilly Research Laboratories. This role will be part of a large-scale, multi-year transformation effort that will reimagine how clinical trials are performed using AI and automation.

About the Role
You will collaborate with product teams to promote reliability engineering during all phases of the software lifecycle. You will work with stakeholders to define service level objectives and track performance against these objectives. You will create software to improve system performance, scalability, and stability, and to automate manual operational work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams to promote reliability engineering during all phases of the software lifecycle
  • Work with stakeholders to define service level objectives and track performance against these objectives
  • Create software to improve system performance, scalability, and stability, and to automate manual operational work
  • Participate in operational support and drive blameless post-mortems to troubleshoot and resolve priority incidents
  • Evaluate and recommend methods for improving automation, security, and system observability
  • Play an important role in researching, defining, and championing reliability engineering practices among product teams

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in reliability engineering and monitoring practices, environments, and tools
  • Technical experience with programming/scripting languages or configuration environments
  • Experience with large-scale databases, data movement, and analytics tools
  • Experience with ITIL v4 processes, framework, and tools
  • Strong knowledge of agile practices and agile planning tools
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent field. Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience.
