Job Description I am currently looking for an Applications Engineer with experience with optoelectronics to join a leading Cork based company. Responsibilities: Understand specific customers' technical requirements and advise the sales team on the correct choice of components. Take ownership of customer technical issues and co-ordinate that the necessary internal resources required to resolve the issue and ensure they are acted on in a timely manner. When necessary, support out-of-hours technical support to customers located worldwide. Design, build, and test systems to demonstrate or measure performance parameters in new or novel ways to aid the design-in process for customers or to root cause customer issues. Generate, edit and review datasheets and support documentation and training materials. Create demonstrations, evaluation boards, and application notes. Travel to regional offices and/or distributors to provide in-depth technical training. Provide feedback to the new product development teams about the customer needs/requirements. Collaborate with other business units, marketing, engineering, and sales to create total system solutions for our customers. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Electronics or a related discipline. Previous experience in a similar role. Significant hands-on test, measurement and debug skills (comfort working with Oscilloscopes, Power meters, BER testers, programmable power supplies, etc.). Knowledge of digital communication circuits and data buses. Direct experience testing the physical layer of logic and data communications equipment. Flexibility to travel worldwide and to be available to customers outside of normal working hours. Excellent technical writing skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
