Job Description

Applications Engineer Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client, have a requirement for an experienced Applications Engineer to join their team. The duration of this post is initially 11 months with possible extensions thereafter. The location will be based onsite in Dublin. Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €30.17 per hour based on an annualised salary of €55,093. The successful candidate will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and be paid for bank holidays. Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Application Engineers to join their team. As a Healthcare Application Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing healthcare applications to support clinical workflows, enhance patient care, and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidates should possess a strong background in the hospital clinical and/or administrative processes and an understanding of healthcare regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities: Application Development and Customization: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design the new systems to meet user needs and healthcare standards. Develop, test, and deploy applications using the deployment tools (training will be available). Customise and configure systems to align with hospital and national requirements and workflows. Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of systems throughout the implementation. Integration and Interoperability: Collaborate with integration teams to ensure seamless data exchange between different systems. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, working closely with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective communication and resolution. Application Support and Maintenance: Provide technical support and maintenance for the systems, including bug fixes, performance optimisation, and system updates (system training will be available). Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to gather feedback and implement enhancements to improve application usability and functionality. Quality Assurance and Testing: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure high-quality software delivery. Conduct functional, and integration testing to identify and resolve any defects or issues. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, and manuals. Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to effectively use the systems. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience (between 5 & 7+ years) as a user of healthcare application or similar role, Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, industry regulations (e.g., HIQA), Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering robust and scalable healthcare applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
