Position Overview: Toolfix is seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Apprentice Repair Technician to join our team. This apprenticeship is designed to provide hands-on training and experience in the repair and servicing of a wide range of power tools and garden machinery. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced technicians, learning to interpret parts drawings, order necessary components, and interact with customers to meet their service needs. Key Responsibilities: On-the-Job Training: Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing various power tools and garden machinery. Learn to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot common issues under the guidance of senior staff. Parts Management: Support in identifying and ordering the correct parts using parts drawings and technical manuals. Help manage the inventory of parts and ensure all necessary components are available for repairs. Customer Interaction: Learn to communicate with customers to understand their repair needs and provide status updates on their equipment. Observe and practice delivering expert advice on maintenance and care of power tools and garden machinery. Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of repairs, parts ordered, and customer interactions. Learn to prepare detailed reports on completed work and any challenges encountered. Qualifications: Education: Please include Education as well as any exam results (junior / Leaving Cert) Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical principles and an interest in learning more about power tool and machinery repair. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Experience: Any prior experience in a mechanical or technical field is beneficial, such as experience working with tools, machinery, or in a customer service environment.
