Architects - Conservation Projects (Dublin / Trim Co.
Meath) IT Staff is recruiting Architects to work on conservation projects with A major Irish Government Agency who are responsible for the conservation and maintenance of over 100 State Owned Heritage Buildings in Dublin, including the Four Courts, the Custom House and Dublin Castle.
Included in this is the management of a direct labour force who carry out day to day maintenance and also undertake projects in specialist craft Areas such as Historic Joinery, Plasterwork and Historic Metalwork.
Site visits, to be pre authorised by Senior Architect/ Design Team Leader, carry out site surveys, evaluate implications, and in liaison with other members of the Project team, undertake revisions as may be required to meet with agreement from the Client.
Develop Tender Documents and input into Procurement Process; Assist the Design Team leader to complete the architectural design, detailed design, general arrangements, planning application report and drawings, access and use certificate report and drawings, fire safety certificate report and drawings, construction drawings, schedules, specifications, preliminaries, design reviews, access audit, fire safety document drawings, Green Building Audits, BCAR 2014 compliance procedures, assessments of safety, process audits etc up to tender stage and provide all information necessary for the completion of the tender and contract documentation.
To ensure that all drawings, specifications, schedules, or other documents necessary for the construction contract are completed and are fully co-ordinated, are in accordance with the approved brief.
Act in full compliance and in accordance with the professional requirements of the Building Control Amendment Act 2014, including co-operating with the Design Certifier and the Assigned Certifier.
Administer construction contract including supervision of site construction, carrying out of Assigned Certifier role, agreeing final account, managing client handover and the defects period.
Education & Experience It is preferable that Architects to have either a relevant postgraduate qualification in building conservation and/or two (2) years (of the three (3) required) relevant work experience in the conservation of historic buildings and/or national monuments.
All Personnel should display the following preferable skills and experience: Prior working experience in the field of building conservation, whether working on protected structures and / or heritage buildings and/or sites and / or monuments.
Prior working experience on public buildings and / or buildings with government function.
The contracts are for a 3 to 4 year period initially offered on a 1 year basis and extended by a further 2 to 3 years.
