Job Description

**Architect Conservation Position**

Our client, a major Irish Government Agency, is responsible for the conservation and maintenance of over 100 State-Owned Heritage Buildings in Dublin.

The successful candidate will work on conservation projects with a direct labour force, managing day-to-day maintenance and undertaking projects in specialist craft areas.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in building conservation and/or 2 years of experience in conservation project management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Design Team Leader in the delivery of assigned projects
  • Preparing Statutory Submissions, including Planning Permission, Fire Safety Certificate, and Disability Access Certificate
  • Preparing feasibility studies, reports, preliminary design concepts, and presentation drawings
  • Assisting the Design Team Leader in the preparation of a detailed programme for the design of the project
  • Carrying out site visits, site surveys, and evaluations
  • Preparing developed scheme designs for client presentation and planning approval
  • Assisting the Design Team Leader to develop the design within the approved brief, budget, and timeframe
  • Developing Tender Documents and inputting into the Procurement Process
  • Co-operating with the PSDP and the PSCS
  • Ensuring that all drawings, specifications, schedules, or other documents necessary for the construction contract are completed and fully co-ordinated
  • Administering construction contracts, including supervision of site construction and carrying out of Assigned Certifier role
  • Managing Design Teams from project inception to completion
  • Providing general advice to the Government, public Agencies, and Clients on architectural, conservation, maintenance, design, construction, and related matters
  • Assisting in Building Appraisals and development of client brief
  • Complying with relevant legislative codes, latest trends, and public procurement requirements

**Key Requirements:**

  • Postgraduate qualification in building conservation
  • 2 years of experience in conservation project management
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for the production of contract documentation
  • Experience working on public buildings and/or buildings with government function

**Contract Details:**

  • Initial contract period: 3-4 years
  • 37-hour week, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid options available
