Job Description

We are seeking an Art Outsourcing Manager to join our team and support the development of a high-profile First Person Shooter game. Romero Games is a thriving independent development studio that partners with a major publisher to create innovative and engaging gaming experiences. As our Art Outsourcing Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the visual direction and quality of our game, working closely with our Art Director and Lead Artist to bring unique visual worlds and experiences to life on PC and consoles. **Key Responsibilities:** • Support the preparation of assignments for external outsourcing teams • Ensure that the visual direction and quality for our game is reflected in every asset • Review deliverables for quality and accuracy and provide feedback as required • Support the environment team with feedback at least once a week • Revise and adjust models and textures as needed in an effort to achieve best quality possible • Maintain outsource production schedule and manage multiple deliveries from different Artists / departments on a daily basis • Coordinate daily with our internal Artists, Tech Artists, Leads and Animators to process and export assets into the game engine and troubleshoot as needed **Requirements:** • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Producer or Outsourcing Manager, preferably within the gaming industry • AAA Game Experience: Proven track record with at least one shipped AAA game • Unreal Engine Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Unreal Engine, including its art production workflows, asset integration, and optimization techniques • Ability to guide external teams in creating assets that align with Unreal Engine's technical requirements • Communication & Negotiation: Highly developed communication and negotiation skills, with an eye for detail • Scheduling & Prioritization: Ability to collaborate with the internal team to prioritize tasks and create reliable schedules that meet project milestones and deadlines • Art Production Pipeline Knowledge: In-depth understanding of art production pipelines, including expertise in various 3 D software packages like Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and Substance Painter • Ability to ensure external assets are seamlessly integrated into the game's pipeline • Quality Assurance: Strong ability to review deliverables for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet both artistic and technical standards • Documentation & Feedback: Skill in providing clear, concise feedback to external teams, including writing detailed documentation and guidelines to support external asset creation • English Language Skills: Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain instructions to external teams in a simple and clear manner • Problem-Solving Abilities: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the outsourcing process, ensuring a smooth workflow **Nice to Have:** • Solid portfolio demonstrating creation of high quality assets • Fundamental understanding of the 3 D asset building process • Experience in project planning and agile project management **Benefits:** • Ownership: Every full-time Romero Games employee is given a stake in the company • Vacation: Five weeks vacation per year + 10 national holidays • Hybrid Working: Flexible working hours, including work-from-home and remote work • Sabbaticals: At 5+ years, should you choose to take unpaid time for a personal project, we will cover 20% of your pay provided that it is in your area of interest • Premium Health: Premium health benefits, plus extended healthcare coverage • Fertility Leave: For employees undergoing IVF treatment, surrogacy or other forms of fertility treatment, two days per cycle for recovery or travel • Relocation assistance: Flexible start dates, relocation reimbursement and assistance in finding housing • Life-Friendly Policies: We understand that work is one of the things that you do and that life happens • Menopause: Up to five days off per year for appointments or recovery days • Compassionate Leave / Bereavement: We support employees by offering paid time off during bereavement for immediate family • Parental Leave and Support: Family-focused benefits include fully paid maternity and paternity leave and flexible work hours • Professional Development: World-class workshops on accessibility, diversity, design and more, from internationally recognized experts • Social Events: Regular social events such as pub nights, holiday parties, barbecues and conferences • Bike to Work Programme: Within Ireland, using the Bike-to-Work government initiative, employees obtain a brand new bike and safety equipment worth up to €1,250 for a regular bike, and up to €1,500 for an electric bike
