RPG 400 Analyst Programmer Our clients, a multi-nation firm in the Automotive sector, are currently recruiting for RPG 400 Analyst / Programmer to join their IT department on a contract. The role will be hybrid. The Role: In this busy and varied role, you'll be responsible for supporting existing business applications the group. You'll be an established analyst / programmer ideally with a background in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of key tasks including but not limited to the following: Analyse user needs and develop solutions for these requirements Develop new and enhance existing programs Document modifications made to programs Test/Debug new and/or modified programs to ensure quality Test changes with the responsible business department Troubleshoot and debug existing code to identify and resolve issues Ability to communicate with users and other programmers to find best solution to design and optimize project requirements The Person: Extensive experience of RPG and CL development on an AS400 platform SQL development skills would be a benefit Strong analytical skills with the ability to transition business requirements into technical solutions Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to operate at all levels, understanding the wider implications of system and processes Knowledge of reporting & data analysis techniques such as Business Intelligence would be considered a definite advantage Relevant Experience (5+Yrs) in IT development and support Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing conflicting demands and priorities.
