Gas Networks Ireland is committed to delivering a sustainable energy future for Ireland. As a key player in this endeavour, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Strategy Manager to lead the development of our national gas network.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our asset management function, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our 14,664km national gas network. This will involve leading a team of skilled engineers and developing policies and strategies that align with our commitment to growth, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Asset Strategy Team: Manage and motivate a team of skilled engineers to deliver on departmental duties and maintain a positive working environment.
- Provide Strategic Direction: Develop and implement policies and strategies for the development, operation, maintenance, refurbishment, and decommissioning of the GNI asset base.
- Create and Enhance Asset Management Strategies: Develop and implement asset management strategies, policies, and plans to support growth and sustainability initiatives, including the decarbonisation of the asset base.
- Develop Investment Strategies: Utilise asset information to develop investment strategies with supporting business cases as part of regulatory price controls.
- Lead Benchmarking Initiatives: Participate in industry groups and lead benchmarking initiatives to continuously improve the integrity management of the asset base.
- Communicate Asset Lifecycle Management: Communicate asset lifecycle management/integrity policies and strategies both internally and externally, seeking feedback and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
