Full-time Assistant Accountant

Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Contract Type: Full-time Permanent

Location: Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co Wicklow

Reporting to: Financial Controller

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer

Main Purpose:

Assisting in various aspects of financial and management accounting functions.

Job Description: The principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support the Financial Controller and wider Finance team with the month end process including preparation of Management Accounts
  • Processing all financial transactions relating to our on-site shop
  • Assist with the analysis of monthly P&L activity including splitting of costs across branches
  • Review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including prepayments, accruals and control accounts
  • Management of fixed asset register
  • Assist with the development of Internal Controls & process improvement
  • Assist with internal and external audit engagements

Other Duties will include:

  • Contribute to the overall strategic planning of Festina Lente
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties which may be assigned to you by the CEO

Person Specification

Essential requirements:

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • IAT or part qualified ACCA is desirable
  • Knowledge of accounts package – preferably SAGE
  • Competency in IT - minimum ECDL or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • A thorough, logical approach
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Dynamic problem solving skills
  • Strong commercial sense
  • Competent in IT skills, particularly excel and the use of spreadsheets

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Hours: 39 hours per week

Pension: Employees have access to PRSA scheme.

Working Week: Monday – Friday

Travel & Subsistence: A fleet of vehicles is available. However, there may be a requirement from time to time to travel in your own vehicle.

Annual Leave: 22 days per annum.

Location of the position: Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow (Relocating to Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow in 2 to 4 years)
