Job Description

CRU is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance and Governance team in delivering key financial processes.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will assist with financial reporting, risk management, and governance processes, and have the opportunity to grow your expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the process of delivering and reporting on the CRU's financial conditions
  • Implementing processes to deliver management information aligned to the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycle
  • Collating information to support Value for Money Reviews
  • Assisting with the preparation of Levy Income calculations on a quarterly basis
  • Providing cover for the financial administration executive, as required
  • General maintenance of the Debtors Ledger Accounts
  • Acting as Risk Co-ordinator, coordinating the collection of risk assessments and scoring of risks

Requirements:

  • Part qualified accountant (recognised accountancy body) or a third-level qualification relevant to this area of work
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience applying financial/accounting disciplines within the public sector or similar relevant role
  • Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computerized accounting systems
