Job Description

Assistant Accountant Contract Duration/Type: Permanent Location: Blanchardstown / Hybrid Hours: 39 Hours per week Overview of the role: This is a role that is operating at a level above an Assistant Accountant,with responsibilties for financial reporting of a number of key but smaller contracts. Would suit an individual working towards completion of exams or part qualified with necessary financial experience The key elements to the role are the provision of accurate and timely reports and financial information to local operations and Finance Manager. Key to this role is the requirement to build good working relationships with Operations and understand the detail of the contracts. Managing working capital and maintaining a high level of internal control is vital in order to manage financial risk. Duties of the Role include: Balance sheet reconciliations, internal control, external audit Understanding, identifying and escalation of financial risks found in tasks performed. Monthly management accounts (including preparing and posting month end journals), budgets, reforecasts, long term plans Reporting performance internal Communication & Feedback Providing regular feedback/ consistent updates. Request assistance when required. Demonstrate a control of your portfolio or tasks, a clear understanding of risks and performance issues. Strong at highlighting key information when sending emails and reports. Management of Working Capital, Billing and AP (join weekly shared service calls) Communication of key performance to operations, communicating targets and action plans when required Ensure compliance of team to all Health and Safety policies Being proactive with Operational issues Taking responsibility for your duties and learning (including systems). Being persistent when closing out tasks or duties. Has a high personal standard when delivering work. Drive technology advancements within Finance and the rest of the business. Ad Hoc projects Adherence with company code of conduct Required skills for this role: Experience in a similar role in Industry with a particular focus on data analysis Exposure or experience with time costing an advantage Working towards or completion of exams Strong IT and systems skills (excel, google applications, SAP etc) Strong communication skills Effective time management skills SAP, Concept, Workday Meet deadlines (flexibility at month end etc) Clearly communicate and report performance at month end Effective workload management Work on own initiative to a high standard Team player Strong organisational skills Presentation skills Proactive, positive, results orientated Excellent customer service and support About Us: Veolia is Irelands leading environmental services company providing solutions that enable ecological transformation.
