Excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join a fast-paced and growing finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing payroll, subcontractor payments, accounts receivable, and assisting with month-end accounts. Location: South Tipperary Job Type: Full-time Salary: Attractive salary with pension Sector: Engineering Key Responsibilities: Process weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Manage payments to subcontractors and ensure timely submission of Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) returns. Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment collection, and reconciling customer accounts. Assist in the preparation of month-end accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting. Reconcile balance sheet control accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved. Prepare and update weekly cash flow statements to monitor and manage the company's liquidity. Assist with various accounting tasks and projects as needed, ensuring smooth operation of the finance department. Assist with the implementation of a new payroll system, including testing, data migration, and staff training. Qualifications and Skills: Part Qualified Accountant. 2/3 years experience in an accounting role, with a focus on payroll, accounts receivable, and month-end accounts. Experience in the Construction or Engineering industry is an advantage but not essential. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems. Familiarity with payroll systems and general accounting software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
