Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Cook to join our team in CPU Bray, Wicklow, working 40 hours per week on a 5 over 7 shift pattern, at a rate of €12.70 per hour.

Job Description

As an Assistant Cook, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food, working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie, Sous, and Head Chef. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and serving food to the highest standard, in line with the Gather & Gather style
  • Producing food in a timely fashion to ensure smooth service to customers
  • Ensuring all appropriate ingredients are available for menus being prepared, and identifying shortages
  • Using equipment responsibly to avoid breakage
  • Assisting in weekly and monthly stock-takes
  • Assisting in the costing of dishes and menus, and working to deliver the GP in the related site
  • Understanding and complying with Gather & Gather and statutory health, hygiene, and safety standards
  • Ensuring equipment and food temperature readings are taken and recorded on a daily basis
  • Ensuring all food is labelled and dated in fridges and freezers
  • Wearing the correct uniform and safety shoes, and maintaining uniform items appropriately
  • Reporting any equipment and/or building fabric faults, and any hygiene, health, and safety hazards
  • Ensuring all deliveries are received, inspected, and checked off correctly, and put away and stored correctly

Occasional Responsibilities

  • Attending training courses and Gather & Gather meetings when necessary
  • Acting as a resource to the General Manager, Head and Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Company Chef, and Food Development Director
