Job Description
A senior nursing management role is available for a leading national healthcare client based in Dublin, requiring a highly experienced and skilled ADON to lead the nursing team.
**Job Description:**
* Provide a nursing assessment of patients admitted to the service.
* Prepare for, participate in and attend ward rounds and other multi-professional meetings.
* Ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatments.
* Maintain a high standard of nursing care during procedures and treatments.
* Ensure patients' rights are maintained and protected under the Mental Health Act.
* Assist the Director of Nursing to ensure that allocated staff are aware of individual care plans and objectives.
* Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff members.
* Take charge of the Centre in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
* Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team and the MDT.
* Inform the Director of Nursing and of any professional issues as necessary in line with NMBI codes of conduct.
* Partake in the planning and preparation for MHC visits and inspections.
* Take the lead in working alongside outside agencies to ensure effective communication across services.
**Requirements:**
* Registered on, or eligible to be on, the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Post-registration qualification in healthcare management (QQ1 Level 8 or higher) or working towards and/or equivalent may be an advantage.
* A minimum of 5+ years post-qualification/registration Psychiatric nursing experience.
* A minimum of 3+ years relevant experience in a management position within the area of Psychiatric nursing.
* Full Clean Driver Licence.
