Job Description

Assistant Financial Controller Our client is a dynamic and future-focused Hotel Group, with an extensive hotel portfolio, offering a selection of superior quality hotels. They are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Controller for one of their properties in Dublin City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to fast track their career as the client would like someone who can move into an FC role for one of their new properties in development in 12-18 months. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Group FC to achieve timely management and financial reporting, you will be responsible for: Ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and integrity are implemented. Producing accurate reports including forecasting revenue, costs, and profitability, P&L accounts, and budget packs. Monitoring the correct billing of revenues and cash control. Ensuring efficient control systems are in place for forecasting and controlling expenditure, including payroll and gross margins. Reporting and reconciling daily revenue, preparing daily management information for the hotel from PMS. Processing purchase orders and invoices, inputting into the accounts system, and coding correctly to nominal codes. Paying suppliers in accordance with the companys financial policy. Dealing with supplier queries and reconciling suppliers statements. Responsible for payroll processing, payments by BACS, and monthly PAYE reconciliation. Reporting payroll costs by department and inputting into the nominal ledger. Ensuring credit control is in place to collect debts in line with company policy. Ensuring all revenue is captured and all costs are reported correctly in the nominal ledger. Preparing Prepayment and Accrual Journals. Reconciling cash and bank accounts. Reporting payroll costs by department and inputting into the nominal ledger. Preparing monthly management accounts in line with the companys financial policy. Overseeing stocktakes for beverages, liaising with all HODs regarding departmental P&Ls, and gross profit percentages. Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and actioned every month. Submitting quarterly VAT returns through SAGE 50 (MTD). Implementing and supporting property operating policies and procedures. Coordinating all financial audits. Requirements: Experienced Assistant Hotel Financial Controller or Hotel Accountant or Assistant Accountant with 2 years plus experience. Qualified/Part Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or similar. Confident, articulate, and communicative with good interpersonal skills. Strong process orientation with a positive approach to change. Able to coach and manage team members. Organized, systematic, and deadline-driven. Analytical and detail-oriented. Good Excel skills, computer literate with multiple systems experience Sage Line 50 experience an advantage.
