We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to manage our team and drive sales at Basecamp. This role involves overseeing all aspects of store operations, including sales performance, staff management, inventory control, and customer service. Key responsibilities include leading by example, implementing sales strategies, developing customer acquisition initiatives, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, strong leadership and communication skills, and experience in recruiting, training, and developing staff. A passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities is highly desirable, as well as knowledge of outdoor gear and equipment. Sales Leadership: Lead by example and inspire the team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Customer Acquisition: Develop and implement initiatives to attract new customers to the store.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team.
Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest outdoor gear and equipment trends.
**Qualifications and Experience:**
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in retail management.
Experience in Small or Medium sized retail business.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Experience in recruiting, training, and developing staff.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, or adventure sports.
Knowledge of outdoor gear and equipment is highly desirable.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
