At Basecamp, we are passionate about fostering a sense of adventure and enabling our customers to embark on unforgettable journeys, Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to manage our team and drive sales at Basecamp. The Candidate will run the Store, and all is elements. As the Retail Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including sales performance, staff management, inventory control, and customer service. It is preferable to have worked in a small to medium sized retail business. Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Lead by example and inspire the team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability. Customer Acquisition: Develop and implement initiatives to attract new customers to the store. Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team. Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional customer service. Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer demand. Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and optimize stock turnover. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest outdoor gear and equipment trends. Provide expert product knowledge and advice to customers to assist them in making informed purchasing decisions. Independent Store : Use all their skills and experience to maintain high levels of Energy and Initiative in a Small/Medium sizes Retail landscape Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in retail management. Experience in Small or Medium sized retail business Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Experience in recruiting, training, and developing staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, or adventure sports. Knowledge of outdoor gear and equipment is highly desirable. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
