Job opportunity for an experienced professional in the food production industry We are seeking a candidate to join a busy food processing firm in the Co. Cavan region as an Assistant Production Manager. **About the Role** * This position is ideal for a person seeking a career in the food production/processing industry and is interested in people management/production management. * As an Assistant/Trainee Production Manager, you will shadow the current Production Manager with a view to taking over that position when the incumbent retires. * You will be part of a 10-person team in a meat processing environment. * This is a hands-on role with opportunities to learn and develop your skills in quality and food safety, operations, and logistics. **Requirements** * A degree in Food Science or a similar industry-related field * An interest in operations, logistics, and/or food supply chain * Quality assurance background is desirable * Previous experience in Lean Business is an advantage * Essential skills include people management, site management, and food FMCG production **Key Responsibilities** * Learning from the current Production Manager and taking over that position when the incumbent retires * Developing skills in quality and food safety, operations, and logistics * Understanding company systems, materials, products, suppliers, and production costings * Making site management decisions and developing skills in Lean Business
