Job Description

We are seeking an inspiring, innovative, and passionate Assistant Cluster Revenue Manager to join our dynamic hotel group. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of revenue strategies, managing the revenue functions for one of our hotels. This role requires proactive and strategic revenue management to meet budgeted sales targets while evaluating and optimizing business opportunities across the MHL Hotel Collection. We offer a comprehensive two-year Revenue Manager development program designed to advance the individual to a Revenue Manager position. This role is based at the Spencer Hotel, home to our cluster reservations and revenue team. Scope of role Implement revenue management operations alongside the Revenue Manager, procedures, and best practices. Identify new revenue opportunities for each hotel. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for each hotel, Optimize and expand distribution partnerships for each hotel. Act as overall business development consultant for each hotels manager/owner. Challenge and influence hotels to improve service level and operational standards. Build and maintain strong working relationships with levels of staff at each of the client hotels. Travel to the hotel. Embed a revenue management culture in each hotel. Assist with revenue projects / new system installations and implementations in the hotels. Core Job Responsibilities & Duties Assist with revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotels and manage day to day yield operations. Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting. Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends for each hotel. Assist with maintenance of 24-36 month rolling demand calendar for each hotel. Assist with creating and developing pricing strategies for each hotel. Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances, and budget comparisons. Assist with assessing, analysing, and pricing group business strategies for each hotel. Analyse overall monthly performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies for each hotel with the Group revenue Manager. Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated, and working to full capacity, for each hotel. Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional, for each hotel to include hotel website & website where applicable. Ensure personnel are fully competent in the use of all systems in each hotel. Work in liaison with hotel sales and reservations departments as a team. Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc) points. Responsible for best practice standards to include competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts for each hotel. Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc) for each hotel. Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business for each hotel. Assist with outline for and support the annual revenue budget process for each hotel. Responsible for recruitment / training / writing of SOPs / coaching / performance management and appraisals of reservations team. Visit the hotel to get first-hand knowledge of all revenue management issues and other key areas. Maintain the relationship with the Cluster reservation office and ensure all procedures are being maintained to and Cluster Reservations Manager are fully aware of revenue strategies and targets. Capacity to read situation, understand environments and respond accordingly Capable of prioritizing between revenue generating actions and time-consuming tasks with low yield impact.
