At Bracken Recruitment we are working with our South Dublin Insurance Client to recruit for a number of Assistant Underwriterroles. A great opportunity for a Business Graduate (Degree in Business Studies or Insurance) or someone with some Insurance Industry experience looking to further their career. The company offer 25 Days Annual Leave, death in service/illness benefit after probation, professional qualification sponsorship and examination bonus. You will also be mentored and career progression within the organisation is also possible. Salary on offer will depend on experience and is approx €30-€34k. The Assistant Underwriter is responsible for the day-to-day application of underwriting strategies, policies and procedures. Role modelling company values, youll deliver a professional, accurate and efficient underwriting service to our network of approved brokers, whilst supporting the Underwriting leadership team in the development and implementation of effective underwriting strategy. Key responsibilities include: Professional management of own underwriting caseload including: Receiving, investigating and assessing underwriting referrals from our chain of brokers in accordance with defined underwriting strategy Communicating decisions and risk appetite to brokers in a professional, knowledgeable and courteous manner Making timely and accurate decisions, always acting within your underwriting authority Reviewing, creating and issuing underwriting documentation as required Adherence to internal technical, operational and compliance procedures and practices Reviewing and analysing underwriting data and managing administrative tasks. Completing broker audits as required. Supporting the Underwriting leadership team in developing profitable and sustainable growth - including involvement in underwriting and product projects as required. Supporting claims colleagues in sharing of technical underwriting knowledge. Supporting the Underwriting leadership team in the development and delivery of Operational and Technical Management Information and analysis. Any other activities as may be required.
