Job Description
Seeking an Associate Attorney for document review in cases arising out of consumer debt, with a focus on accuracy and attorney involvement.
Mandarich Law Group, LLP is a leading creditor's right law firm with offices across the US, offering a unique opportunity to gain significant courtroom and litigation experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review drafted pleadings for suits, default judgments, and garnishments for accuracy and attorney e-signature.
- Complete compliance checklists for each document type reviewed to maintain and record meaningful attorney involvement.
- Identify areas of concern and escalate accordingly for problem resolution.
- Draft new suit documents as needed to accommodate placements of additional debt types from clients.
- Complete client surveys regarding Ohio Statutes, Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure, and Ohio Small Claims Rules.
- Assist legal support staff with providing directives to effectuate the legal/litigation process.
- Occasionally, participate in mediations, case management conferences, trials, or pre-trials to ensure all firm appearances are covered.
Requirements:
- Licensed in the State of Ohio to practice law.
- Additional licensing in other states (MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) is a plus.
- Comfortable appearing in court and able to appear on time consistently using your own method of transportation.
- Valid driver's license.
- Multi-tasking and strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory for a high-volume case load.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
- Travel may be required, with reimbursement for mileage and other approved expenses.
