As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing costs and leading projects in the life sciences sector.
Our company, Linesight, is a leading provider of cost management services, and we are seeking an experienced Associate Cost Manager to join our team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in the tender/bid process, from initial documentation to analysis and reporting.
- Analysing tenders/bids to ensure client value for money.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts, including handling claims to ensure the client gets best value from works undertaken.
- Creating estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
- Overseeing project spend by creating valuations and cost reports, and clearly communicating variations to the team.
- Supporting project management and decision-making through excellent cost documentation and timely communication.
- Settling construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency.
- Engaging new clients and repeat projects with existing clients through business development skills.
- Fostering top performance and growth for employees through excellent mentorship and leadership.
This role has a specialized focus on post-contract fit-out for a life sciences project, requiring efficient management, quality control, budget control, and timely delivery.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Experience as a cost manager on large-scale construction projects with increasing levels of leadership.
- Chartered status or on the path to completing it.
- A degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
- Significant experience in pre- and post-contract cost management, particularly with fit-out projects in the life sciences sector.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- A strong ability to build relationships with the team and clients through a shared purpose and sense of openness and fun.
