The Associate Director Global Supply Chain – Materials Planning role serves as the business process owner for Lilly's global warehousing processes. Responsibilities include defining and documenting global business processes, identifying and driving improvements, governing execution of the business processes, ensuring the tools and organization are capable, and supporting the capabilities in the organization through appropriate guidance and training.
This role is accountable for defining, maintaining, and sustaining the global Materials Planning process, which includes:
The role requires a strategic vision for the business process in line with overall business objectives, and making recommendations for Materials Planning process development and improvement on behalf of stakeholders. It also involves forming a companywide strategic roadmap to improve Materials Planning process maturity, aligning it with key stakeholders, and training users on business processes.
The ideal candidate has a BS or MS degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field, and at least 5 years of manufacturing and/or supply chain experience with understanding of material flows, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. Strong Materials Movement business process knowledge and knowledge of systems required to plan, buy, and manage materials are also required.
Additional skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, good problem-solving and influencing skills, and ability to analyze project needs and balance competing interests. Use of business process modeling techniques, project management skills, and ability to identify modifications to business practices to take full advantage of technology innovation are also desirable.
