Job Description
Develop and manage relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers to negotiate rebate discounts in exchange for formulary access to government books of business.
The Associate Director of Industry Relations is responsible for developing and managing relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers in the context of negotiating for rebate discounts in exchange for formulary access to all enterprise-wide government books of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers to negotiate rebate discounts in exchange for formulary access to government books of business.
- Financial modelling analytics for rebate optimization and lowest net cost strategy assessment of pharmaceutical products.
- Clinical knowledge of multiple therapeutic categories for manufacturer assignments.
- Contract negotiation processes including the review process involving internal legal and contract experts.
- Executing formulary contract negotiations and all interactions with pharmaceutical manufacturers in compliance with corporate policies and business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Contracting negotiations, strategy development and contract redlining experience.
- Proven ability to work well and collaboratively with multiple teams or departments.
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree in Pharmacy.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Pharm D).
- Experience in managed health care or pharmacy benefit management.
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry context.
